Winner: Governor General's Literary Award for Children's Literature (Canada, 1992)
Winner: National Chapter of Canada IODE Violet Downey Book Award (1993)
Significance: This was Julie Johnston's debut novel, and she made history by winning the Governor General's Award for both her first AND second books!
